Relatively a new city, loaded with the stigma of drug trafficking, violence and groups on the margins of the law such as guerrillas and paramilitaries, thieves and corrupt people who led the city to a critical point, where steal money and kill people were common in some neighborhoods of Medellín. At the same time, the ruling class lived in opulence and ruled the country as they desired.

However, facing all this terror frame, could more the people who were looking for aspirations, the communities stand together with the hope of improving their lives, managing to change the face of Medellín. New generations started to rule the city, providing support to isolated communities, making them part of the panorama and the plan of the city. Today Medellín is an innovative city that has gone through very difficult times, avoiding many of the biggest problems that a population could face.

Today our city continues developing socially, technologically and professionally and all the citizens are looking for the same objective, we want Medellín as city full of life, opportunities, happiness and color.

ITINERARY

Marked by terror and violence, the commune 13 was not on the maps of Medellín in the year 2000, this territory was completely stigmatized by the government and citizens. Because of the strategic location, the commune 13 became the favorite place for the passage of drugs, weapons, and money.

Going through more than 30 violent operations where the government tried to enter by force, the hopes of many innocent people disappeared. Here was executed the Orion operation, with more than 300 lives that ceased to exist and today, many of these people are still disappeared.

But now the reality is different, the commune 13 it's a Phoenix territory, which has been liberated through of art, today dreams have no price, laughing is for free and dancing is done for happiness, It is a place where the rainbow has returned to shine, spreading their colors through the alleys of this wonderful place, where hope and dreams rise from the ashes and come alive again.

Have a look at how art freed us from the dark past and rise up a new flame of hope. Come and meet with us the incredible story of the social transformation of Medellín through the graffiti that decorate the streets of this incredible place.

We will pick you up at your place in Medellín, then we will go, San Javier, where is located La Comuna 13, then we will have a transformation walk tour through the murals, alleys, painting, and colors after we finished we will drop you back again at your place. This is half day tour (4 hours)

When should I go on a Colombian Tour?

This is really a question of personal preference. The busy season in the most of the destination is December to January and June to July; because is the student's vacations and the most of families of the country has the opportunity to make the different trips.
