The most iconic figure in Bolivian culture, Cholitas are riding the crest of a resurgence that has seen them transform from discriminated and oppressed low-class citizens to protagonists in the new economic, political and cultural waves that drive the country.
Among the revolutions propelled by Cholitas is the one related to popular Latin American sports, leading to the emergence of the most unusual, extravagant and spectacular wrestling show in the world: the Cholitas Wrestling! Inspired by America’s WWF and Mexico’s Lucha Libre, the Cholita Wrestling is a one- of-a-kind event featuring Bolivian women fighting intheir traditional fashion.
ITINERARY
We will drive to the city of El Alto (approx. 45min), where the show takes place in a multifunction center. Here you will have VIP seats and will be welcomed with a small snack (soda and popcorns) as well as with a free souvenir of your choice. At the end of the show, you will have the chance to take a picture with a cholita wrestler. At the end of the day, we will take a bus to come back to La Paz.
